mona spent 2/3 of saving on a hand bag and 3/4 of the remainder on a book. She had (1/12)th fraction of savings left

Let Mona's savings be Rs x.

It is given that Mona spents 2/3 rd of her savings on hand bag.

∴ Money spent on hand bag = (2/3) × x = (2/3)x

So, the  amount of money remaining = Rs (x - 2/3x) = Rs (1/3)x

It is also stated that she spends (3/4)th of this remainder on book.

So, money spent on book = Rs (3/4 × 1/3)x = Rs (1/4)x

Thus, total money spent = Rs (2/3 + 1/4)x = Rs ( 11/12)x

Money left with her = Rs (x - 11/12x) = Rs (1/12)x

∴ Fraction of saings left with her = (Money left with her) ÷ (Total savings)

= (x/12 ÷ x)

= 1/12

Thus, she had 1/12 th of her savings left.
