Yes. It is a medium of exchange that helps us avoid the need of double coincidence of wants. Thus, you can get what you want by just a medium of exchange. Imagine if there was no money and you wanted to buy shoes. And the only thing you have to offer in return was a jar. You'd have to look for a shoe seller who would want a jar. Finding this wouldn't be easy. Thus, money is important
