yeah it is said that monsoons are both friendly and enemy of Nepal because of the following reason :
1) monsoon makes the land cool and sent away the hot summer season. at the same time it also provide water to drought prone areas. monsoon also increases amount of water in well and other sources.
2) excessive monsoon in an area for a long period of time increases the chance for natural calamities like flood, tsunami and so on... This leads to loss of resources, life's of people and animals.
