He will go in last two hours (15-3)=12 km. His average speed should be (12÷2)=6 km per hour.

Average speed for the last two hours to cover the distance given in time is 6 km/hr

Solution:

Monti has to cover 15 km in 3 hour

Therefore,

Total distance = 15 km

Total time = 3 hour

He could cover only 3 km in first hour

Remaining distance = 15 - 3 = 12 km

Remaining time = 3 hour - 1 hour = 2 hour

Average speed for last two hours is:

Average\ speed = \frac{ distance}{time}\\\\Average\ speed = \frac{ 12}{2} = 6

Thus, average speed for the last two hours to cover the distance given in time is 6 km/hr
