Now, we have to find out the work done by the Gravitational force.

Formulas used:

Work done is given by dot product between distance vector and force vector.

Mathematically:

W = F . d

=> W = F × d × cos(θ) ,

where θ is the angle between the 2 vectors.

Calculation:

During revolution of moon around the Earth, the angle between force and displacement vector is 90°

so θ = 90°

Therefore,

work done = F × d × cos(90°)

=> work done = 0 J.
