Explanation:
A wealthy lawyer (Skvortsoff) finds a broken beggar, who deserves to be a teacher dismissed rudely from his job. Skvortsov, though, recognises that he noticed the equal man another day if he had declared to be a poor student. The beggar (Luskoff) cuts down and realises that he is just a drunk out work. Skvortsov gives him a work chopping wood, which he grudgingly takes. Olga, the chef, gets Luskoff out and gives him the wood stack.
After that, Luskoff turns regularly to do odd tasks and finally Skvortsoff sets him up by an office position. Two years later, Skvortsoff sees the past beggar at the cinema. He prides himself for holding "released" Lushkoff from time of intoxication, but Lushkoff reports that it was Olga who protected him--she cut the wood, and the kindness she explained led to a difference in his heart.
