Moral of the poem 'small pain in my chest' is that war has no solution. Instead, it just results in the loss of youth, vigour and a long glorious phase of the soldiers' life, who do not have any personal benefit from the war. War just snatches them from their beloved ones. The youth, who could be a part of development of the nation, is exploited of his life's exciting journey and is destroyed in the meaningless war.
