Sammakka Sarakka is a huge festival of Telangana people that marks the fight of Sammakka and Saralamma (a mother and daughter) with the powerful rulers against an unfair law. It is a 3 days festival starts at Medaram in Tadvai mandal that held once in 2 years. It is a major festival/Jatara after kumbh mela that attracts millions of people all over the country.

सम्मक्का साराकका जतारा फरवरी के महीने में हर दूसरे वर्ष में आयोजित किया गया। महोत्सव चार दिनों के लिए मनाया जाता है और लगभग दस लाख लोगों को आकर्षित करती है इस त्यौहार का जश्न मनाने के लिए पूरे देश के कई आदिवासी भक्त यहां पहुंचते हैं।
लोग देवी को अपने वजन के बराबर गुणवत्ता के बानाराम या सोने की पेशकश करते हैं। उनके प्रसाद के साथ किए जाने के बाद वे गोदावरी नदी के एक सहायक नदी के जलपना वगु में स्नान करते हैं। जंपना वागु के साथ जुड़े किंवदंतियों के अनुसार, जाम्पाना देवी समाक्कका का पुत्र और खुद एक योद्धा है, जो एक ही धारा में काकातियों के साथ आदिवासी युद्ध के दौरान मृत्यु हो गई थी।
जगन्ना वगु रंग का रंग लाल है और यह जंपना की मौत का प्रतीक है। आदिवासियों ने अपनी आत्माओं में हिम्मत पैदा करने और उन्हें बचाने के लिए अपने भगवान के बलिदान को याद करने के लिए इसमें एक पवित्र स्नान किया।
