Narrator worked at shipyard carrying shipments to docks.
He had an intense love for oranges.
He stole from boats and ships and chewed them for hours.
One time he was caught by security guard Pongo.
Pongo makes his case an example for other workers and frighten them for consequences of dishonesty and stealing.
When police officer locked him in room and went for another police officer for witness the narrator ate up all seventeen oranges with seeds and peel and dissolve the last evidence.
Therefore he was never crazy about oranges.
