A simple sentence is composed of the most basic elements that complete a sentence which is a subject and a verb. Simple sentences are called as it is because it can only consist of one subject and one verb or predicate. A predicate is a part of a sentence or clause that contains the verb. A simple sentence is composed of a single independent clause with a subject and a verb or predicate that expresses a complete thought or idea.

For example--Go to work.

The baby threw his bottle etc.

A compound sentence consists of two main clauses of equal importance joined with a conjunction.

For ex----1. I like tea and he likes coffee.

'I like tea' is an independent clause, 'and' is a conjunction and 'he like coffee' is also an independent clause

A complex sentence contains an independent clause and a dependent clause and the dependent clause starts with a subordinating conjunction.

For ex---1.The boys did not go to the zoo because they went to the park.
