more information about IIIT HYDERABAD AND BANGALORE
..how to take admission
Answers
IIIT Hyderabad was the first autonomous private institute of its kind to be established in 1998. It was given support by Andhra Pradesh government and was declared as PPP. Since it was a private institute before it named itself International Institute of Information Technology as they aimed for international standards as we can see now.
Coming to IIIT Bangalore, it was so called Indian Institute of Information Technology Bangalore earlier till 2005 after which it got recognition as a Deemed University. Upon the advice of Indian Government the institute's name was changed to International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore as it was a PPP between Karnataka State Government and some leading tech giants like Infosys while rest of the IIITs with the name Indian Institute of Information Technology are funded and managed by Ministry of Human Resource Development (Central Government body) and State Government too in some cases. Wanna give clarity on one more thing, all the IIITS are run on a PPP model under the IIIT Bill of 2014 except IIIT Kurnool, Kanchipuram, Jabalpur, Allahabad and Gwalior which are run purely by MHRD while IIIT Kerala is state funded.
All the rest IIITs come under JoSSA except IIIT H, B and Bh which take admissions on the basis of JEE Mains marks but their own admission portals…
