More rainfall occurs in the western part of Nepal than in eastern in winter, why?

Typical days of Kathmandu valley in winter season is as warm as 20 degree Celsius in a sunny day but night temperature falls down below freezing . The little rain in winter is due to Mediterranean activities . Hence the winter rainfall in western Nepal has more rain than eastern .

These mountains are also a factor due to which western part of Nepal get more rainfall in comparison to eastern part. In Nepal, winter rainfall depends on the monsoon cycle. The mountain act as barrier and stops the monsoon winds to blow from southeast  and causes plenty of rainfall from June to September. In winters, the monsoon winds get drier while moving towards eastern parts from western parts.
