The elements having the less reactivity are always displaced by the elements having the more reactivity because of the ability of the reactive element to accept a electrons while in their ionic form . While less reactive element do the exact opposite of it by losing electron easily.

Prove: Prepare a solution of potassium bromide.
        and add the chlorine  in it .
      You will see the change in color . This is due to the liberation of bromine because chlorine takes the place of the bromine and release it.

Very Good Question

Experiment : To check the Reactivity of Metals.

1.Let us prepare the solution of CuSO4 in a beaker .
2. Add Iron nails to CuSO4 solution.
3. observe the breaker for changes.

observation.

1. The Blue colour of CuSO4 solution turns to light green and brown colour gets deposited on iron.
chemical reaction involved:
CuSO4 + Fe----> FeSO4 + Cu
Here as Fe is more reactive than Cu, so it displaces Cu from CuSo4.
Beaker solution turns to Green colour due to formation of Iron sulphate.
copper gets deposited on Iron nail.

conclusion : More reactive metals can displace less reactive metals.
