more resonating structures, more acidity. then why is carboxylic acid more acidic than phenol? if the reason is ease of proton donation then where goes the rule of resonance?

This is because oxygen is more electronegative than carbon, and hence, it pulls electrons easily

So, carboxylic acids are more acidic than phenol
