mosquitoes can be controlled by preventing stagnation of water though they do not live in water. Why?

Mosquitos can be controlled by preventing stagnation of water though they don't live in water because mosquitos lay their eggs in stagnated water, they get most nutrients after hatching from water and then they spread diseases like dengue , malaria , chikungunya etc.

Mosquitoes can be controlled by preventing stagnation of water though they do not live in water because female mosquitoes lay their eggs in stagnant water, by prevent it we can help in reducing population of mosquitoes.
