What is Symbiosis relationship?

Symbiosis relationship is defined as the co existence of two living organism in an ecology supporting each other.

Symbiosis relationship is also seen between Algae and Fungi which comes as Lichen.

Mosses are truly plant and a complex organism formed by Fungi and Algae or Cyanobacteria.

Symbiotic Relationship is divided into many types:-

  • Mutualism- In this both species is benefitting on another and do not cause any harm.

        Example- Algae and Fungi

  • Commensalism- A relationship between two species in which one is benefitted and other is neither benefitted nor affected.

        Example- Remora fish

  • Parasitism- Under this, one species lives on the host species. Example- lice
  • Predation- Symbiosis where one organism depends on other for food.

        Example- Herbivores

  • Competition- In this, organisms compete with each other so as to get maximum benefit of available resources.

        Example- Competition between Carnivores for hunting
