Because chromium is a costly metal. And as it is a hard material,so it is difficult to mould it in the required shape

We use the electroplating process for making metals and metal made objects more durable for a long long term usage.

Chromium is one of the most used metals for the electroplating process. We apply a layer of chromium on the other metal surface to make it durable.

But we don't make the whole object with chromium because chromium is a very costly metal. If we use chromium for the whole manufacturing the price of the finished product will be increased largely.
