Most El Niño climate patterns involve the Earth’s atmosphere and the surface waters of the Pacific Ocean.

• An El Niño decreases cold water upwelling off the lovely coast of the Americas. Fish either die or move into places where they can obtain something to consume when this happens.  
• Sea birds that typically rely upon them can inevitably die or go elsewhere with the fish being nonexistent. Terrific storms and ocean swell also kill the Kelp Forests.
• The surface waters in the central and eastern Pacific Ocean are considerably warmer than average during an El Niño occurrence. The shift is closely related to the atmosphere and the winds sweep over the vast Pacific.
