Some important Functions of liver are as follows

1. Storage of Fat- Liver liver store fats in small amount. Also we should know that heptic cells play an important role in fat metabolism.

2. Urea Formation- Liver converts ammonia which is very toxic into urea which is less toxic through a process known as ornithine cycle.

3. Secretion and Synthesis of bile- Bile salt are secreted by liver. Bile salts help in emulsification of fats. Bile prevents the food from decomposition. Even it kills the harmful bacterias.

4. Secretion of Enzymes- Some enzymes are separated by liver which participate in metabolism of proteins, ,fats and carbohydrates.
