Most of the houses in Punjab have flat roofs, while most of the houses in Kerala have sloping roofs . Can you say why this is so?

in punjab the weather is hot and dry and it rains very less as in kerala it is moist wet weather there it rains heavily there during monsoon so in order to prevent leakage inside the house the have sloping roofs to create a way to flow the water
