Nuclear energy required fusing lighter nuclei provided by fission reactions. During the reaction, there is no need of sunlight.

Nuclear energy is also not ultimately derived from Sun’s energy. Normally, the wind energy, geothermal energy, and bio-mass are derived from solar energy.

Nuclear power is use of nuclear reactions which would release energy for generating the heat. It is mainly used in the steam turbines for producing the electricity stored in nuclear power plant.

Hey there!!

Nuclear energy is not drived from the sun, nuclear energy derived by the energy in the nuclus of atoms. There are generally two types, fission and fusion. Fission is when two atoms get repel from each other and fusion is when two atoms collide. Fission produces more energy. The energy is derived from atoms not the sun.

Hope my answer helps :)
