Mother age = a

daughter age a/4

after 16 years

a + 16 = (a/4 + 16)2

4(a + 16) = (a + 64) 2

4a + 64 = 2a + 128

2a = 128 - 64 = 64

a = 64/2  = 32

Mother's present age = 32 years

Son's present age = 32/4 = 8years
