Age of mother = ( X + 20 ) years.




After three years age of son = ( X + 3 ) years


After three years age of mother = ( X + 20+3) = X + 23



According to question,


X + 3 / X + 23 = 19/39



39 ( X + 3 ) = 19 ( X + 23 )



39X + 117 = 19X + 437



39X - 19X = 437 - 117



20X = 320



X = 320/20

X = 16 years



Present age of son = X = 16 years


And,



Present age of mother = ( X + 20 ) = 36 years.
