HOW TO SOLVE?

Let the age of father be x,

And let the age of mother be x-7 as given in the question.

Father's age + mother's age = 53 years

Put the value given by me,

x + x-7 = 53 years

2x-7 = 53 years

2x = 53+7 years

2x = 60 years

x = 60/2 years

x = 30 years

Age of father is x and it's value is 30 years, So, the age of father will be 30 years.

Mother's age = x-7

Then age of mother will be 30-7 years = 23 years.
