Throughout Christy Brown's life his mother was an impeccable inspiration. She refused to accept the inevitable truth that her son is crippled of his body. She showed indomitable faith on his son, and never failed him. She was sure that Christy was destined to be great, he had a great mind which could move mountains. And this unshakable faith of his mother helped him achieve his intellectual gifts to the fullest. He write 'My Left Foot" in 1954.followed by his autobiographical novel "Down All the Days" in 1970.He later went on to publish two additional novels and three books of poetry.
Her spirit turned his son from a nothing to something.
Hope it helps.
