If a person is walking on a road and a tree can be seen just aside from him. Now we can say that the person is in motion by taking the tree which is in rest is reference.
If we the man walking as reference , then we conclude that the tree is at rest.
Hence , Motion and Rest are relative .

Motion and rest are relative terms
If a person in a moving bus is sitting but if he looks outside the trees and buildings which he will look are moving back but the person is at rest but the surrounding is in motion this is how motion and rest are relative terms.
