Oh Yes it is relative to stationary objects, or objects being overtaken.
And I think that.., two objects travelling in opposite directions at the same speed will pass each other at double the speed of each object.n.this is one of the reasons I think that motion is relative.

Motion is a relative term becuase we can't define any body's motion without a refrence point or an origin youcan say that are in a state of rest wiith respect to your sofa but you can also that your moving at km/s of speed with relative to moon or sun
