Motion is truly a relative term. Example are-

  • When moving in a train the trees appears to move backwards for you but actually you are moving in train and the trees are at rest
  • While moving in lift you are stationary with respect to your friend in lift but moving with respect to a person outside the lift
  • If you run in rain then the rain appear to fall at an angle towards you but to a stationary person the rain is falling vertically downward

examples:

1:suppose you are riding a bike at 50km/h.

2:if an observer is at rest in his or her own frame of reference, but he may be moving in others observer's frame of reference.

3: consider you are sitting in a car. Let a tree be in front of you. Now start your engine and call your friend to get in the car. Now accelerate the car. You can observe the tree is moving towards you. Or you are moving towards the tree? So motion is completely relative. We consider here earth to be huge and so it is you moving not earth(tree)
