We can say that an object is in motion by the following way -

• When the object is moving it's position with the passing time by the respect of the stationary environment around that object.

In this case we can surely say that the object is in motion.

Example : A car is moving on the road.

• When the object is stationary but it's whole environment is moving including that object,then we can say that the object is in an indirect motion state.

Example : The earth is rotating with all the stationary substances on it.
