Motivation letter for bad grades to principal

dear principle,

When I checked my school bill for the upcoming year online this morning, I noticed that I did not receive any financial aid for this coming school year. I called the office, and they let me know it was because of my poor grades, but that I could write a letter of appeal. That is why I write to you today.

I know that my grades have been poor lately. I have been off and enjoying college life a little too much. This was my fault, and I take full responsibility. I had no idea, however, that my grades were low enough to put my financial aid in jeopardy. If I had known, I would have studied more and worked harder. Without this financial aid, there is no way that I could afford to attend this school, and I would have to drop out. While I understand that you have every right to take my aid away, I beg of you to reconsider.

sincere yours,
