spinal cord has two regions first is call dorsal root from where the sensory neurons arises ans second is ventral root from where motor neurons arises.

the stimulus from a sensory organ travel through sensory neuron reaching dorsal root and from there it is passed on to the ventral root from which it goes through motor neuron to the effector muscle where actions are to be implemented.
