Green algae are plants that grow over stagnant bodies of water ( you may have seen them growing over the surface of drains or ponds).Which do you think are autotrophs?Give reason for your answer.​

• Green algae contain chlorophyll therefore they can make their own food by utilizing sunlight, Carbon di oxide from air and Water from pond(Where they lives).
• Whereas moulds lack chlorophyll therefore it cannot utilize sunlight to make their own food.
• They(Moulds) are saprophyte means they grow on dead organism and get the nutrients from there.
• So green algae are autotroph as they make their own food.
