Subhash Chandra Bose took part in the movement for unconditional independence for India. He established the All India Forward Bloc political party which called for independence from British rule. During the second world war, he led the Azad Hind Fauj (Indian National Army), which made alliances with the Nazis and other totalitarian regimes. He later decided that democracy was the best way to move forward for India.
