Given: Mr. A is traveling in his car and has calculated to reach point X. if he travels at 60km/hr he would reach at 4 pm and he would reach there at 2 pm if he travels at 90km/hr.

To find: We have to find out the speed at what he will able to reach X at 3pm.

Solution:

We know that-

Distance=speed×time

Let the man needs y hour to reach place X at the speed of 60km/hr.

Given that the man reaches place X at 2pm instead of 4pm if he travels at a speed of 90km/hr.

So, at 90km/hr speed the man will reach X at (y-2)hour.

Distance is same in both case.

So we can write-

60×y=90×(y-2)

30y=180

y=6

So, distance=60×6

=360km

To reach the place at 3pm the time=6-1

t=5 hour.

The speed will be-

speed=\dfrac{360}{5}

speed=72km/hr.

The speed must be 72km/hr.The correct option is A.
