Answer:

Let the amount by which Mr.A bought the bicycle be X

%of profit Mr.A sells for ; 20%

amount Mr.B pays to Mr.A= x+(20% of X)

%of profit Mr.B sells for ; 25%

amount Mr.C pays to Mr.B = Rs 1500

therefore, 25%{x+(20% of X)} = 1500

=>25/100{X+(20/100 x X) } = 1500

=> 25/100{100X+20X/100} = 1500

=>25/100 x 120X/100 = 1500

=>3000X / 10000 = 1500

=>3000X = 15000000

=> X = 15000000/3000

=>X = 5000

Therefore, Mr.A pays Rs 5000 to buy the bicycle.
