Given :- Mr. Adams divides 223 markers equally among the 26 students in his class. He puts the extra markers in a box. What is the least number of markers he puts in the box ?

Answer :-

dividing total markers with number of students we get,

26 ) 223 ( 8

208

15

so, we can say that, if Mr. adams add (26 - 15) = 11 markers, it will completely divisible by 26 .

→ 223 + 11 ÷ 23 = 234 ÷ 23 = Remainder 0 .

therefore, we can conclude that, Mr.adams puts 11 markers in the box .
