dealer suggests him a plot whose length is 8m more then it’s width and the
perimeter of the plot is 76 m.
• (a)Assuming the width of a plot be ‘x’ m, frame a linear equation in one variable.

Step-by-step explanation:

a) length = X+8

width = X

perimeter = 2 (X+X+8) = 2 (2X+8)

b) as per the question

2 (2X+8) = 76

2X+8=76/2

2X+8=38

2X=38-8

2X=30

X=30/2

X=15

Therefore Width = 15 m

Length = 15+8= 23 m

c) Area= Length*Width =15*23= 345 Sq. m
