Answer:

Let Giridhar's monthly income = Rs. x.

Expenditure on household

items= Rs.X2

Expenditure on transport =Rs.X4[50% of X2]

Expenditure on entertainment

=Rs.X8[25% of X2]

Expenditure on sports

(X2 x 10100 )= Rs. X20

=Rs.(40X−20X−10X−5X−2X40)

=Rs. 3X40 Now, 3X40 =900

=>x=900X403= Rs.12000

The monthly income of Mr. Amar is Rs. 6000.

Given:

Mr. Amar spends 50% of his monthly income on household items and out of the remaining, he spends 25%on traveling, 30%on entertainment, and 15%on shopping.

Rs 900 is left after all the expenditures.

To Find:

Monthly income of Mr. Amar.

Solution:

Let Amar's monthly income = Rs. x

Total expenditure on household items is 50% of the income or = Rs. x/2

Now, out of the remaining money,

Money spent on travelling= 25%

Money spent on entertainment= 30%

Money spent on shopping = 15%

Remaining expenditure = money spent on travelling, entertainment and shopping.

⇒Remaining expenditure = 25%+ 30% +15% = 70%

Savings is 100%-70% = 30%

Now 30% of x/2=900

⇒30x/200 = 900

⇒ x = 6000

Hence, the monthly income of Mr. Amar is Rs. 6000.
