Now, let's come to the step of calculations_

According to the question Mr. Amit can walk 8 km in 1 hr 20 min.

We know that,

1 hour = 60 minutes

∴ 1 hour 20 minutes = (1 × 60 ) + 20

                                 = 60 + 20

                                  = 80 minutes

So, it can also be said that,

In 80 minutes Mr. Amit can walk 8 km

∴ In 1 minute Mr.  Amit can walk (8/80) km

∴ In 10 minutes Mr. Amit can walk (8×10/80) km

                                                       = 1 km

So, he can walk 1 km in 10 minutes.
