Given :- Mr. Bedi visits the market and buys the following articles : -

  1. A pair of shoes costing Rs.3000, GST @ 18%
  2. A Laptop bag costing Rs.1000 with a discount of 30%, GST @ 18%. .
  3. Medicines costing Rs.950, GST @ 5% .

To Find :-

  1. Calculate the total amount of GST paid.
  2. The total bill amount including GST paid by Mr. Bedi.

Solution :-

→ CP of medicine = Rs.950

→ GST paid = 5% = (950 * 5/100) = Rs.47.5

so,

→ Amount paid to to shopkeeper = 950 + 47.5 = Rs.997.5

similarly,

→ CP of shoes = Rs.3000

→ GST paid = 18% = (3000 * 18/100) = Rs.540

so,

→ Amount paid to to shopkeeper = 3000 + 540 = Rs.3540 .

and,

→ CP of laptop = Rs.1000

→ Discount given = 30% .

so ,

→ SP after discount = (1000 * 70)/100 = Rs.700

now,

→ GST paid = 18% = (700 * 18/100) = Rs.126

then,

→ Amount paid to to shopkeeper = 700 + 126 = Rs.826 .

therefore,

→ The total amount of GST paid = 47.5 + 540 + 126 = Rs.713.5 (Ans.)

hence,

→ The total bill amount including GST paid by Mr. Bedi = 997.5 + 3540 + 826 = Rs.5363.5 (Ans.)
