Mr. Bramble was a very nice man. He was a professional and fierce boxer who had won almost all his contests in his weight category. He was so skilled that he could surprise his opponents with his clever maneuvers. However, in his personal life he was very caring and soft. He had a sacrificing nature and was quite amenable to suggestions and persuasion of his family members. He was a loving father and understanding husband. His polite, yielding and submissive nature is visible from the fact that he sacrificed the name he had selected for Harold when he was born for the sake of his wife’s happiness. For the sake of his son, he kept his profession hidden from him. He was willing to abandon the most important fight of his life for his son's sake.
