Mr. Cameron uses cylindrical containers like the one shown below to store water on his farm. The circular bases have a diameter of 90cm.
91cm is the diameter
Mr. Cameron uses two of these containers. Which is closest to the total volume of both containers? (Use π = 3.14

Answer:

diameter of first cylinder=90cm

radius of first cylinder=90/2 =45cm

here height of cylinder is not given

so, volume of first cylinder = πr²h

=3.14×(45)²×h

=6358.5×h cm³

also diameter of 2nd cylinder =91cm

and radius of 2nd cylinder=91/2cm = 45.5cm

height of this cylinder is also not given

so, volume of 2nd cylinder=πr²h

=3.14(45.5)²×h

=6500.585×h cm³

volume of both conatiners =6500.585×hcm³ + 6358.5×h cm³

=12859.085×h cm³

so he will use 2nd cylinder having base diameter 91cm
