First we need to find the area of the border of the painting:

=  l *  b

=  40  *  25

=  1000 cm^2

Cost of putting the border at 40 per m = 1000  *  40

                                                       =  40,000 Rs.

Hope this helps you...If it does then mark me as the brainliest!! :)

Answer:

Rs. 52

Step-by-step explanation:

Length of painting = 40cm

Breadth of painting = 25cm

Assuming it to be a rectangle, perimeter = 2(length + breadth)

                                                                    = 2(40 + 25)

                                                                    = 2 x 65

                                                                    = 130cm

Now, cost for 1m = 40

130cm = 130/100 = 1.3m

Therefore, 1.3m x 40 = 52

Hence, it will cost him Rs. 40 for putting the border
