Answer :

1.44 km

Step-by-step explanation :

 \setlength{\unitlength}{1 cm}\begin{picture}(0,0)\thicklines\multiput(0,0)(5,0){2}{\line(0,1){3}}\multiput(0,0)(0,3){2}{\line(1,0){5}}\multiput(2.1,-0.7)(0,4.2){2}{\sf\large 120 m}\multiput(-1.4,1.4)(6.8,0){2}{\sf\large 60 m}\put(-0.5,-0.4){\bf A}\put(-0.5,3.2){\bf D}\put(5.3,-0.4){\bf B}\put(5.3,3.2){\bf C}\end{picture}

Given,

The length of the rectangular garden = 120 m

Since, the length is twice than the breadth.

          length = 2(breadth)

           120 m = 2(breadth)

           breadth = 120/2

           breadth = 60 m

∴ The breadth of the garden = 60 m

⇒ The distance Mr.Chowdhary walks for one turn round the rectangular garden is equal to Perimeter of the rectangular garden.

we know,

Perimeter of the rectangle = 2(length + breadth)

                                              = 2(120 m + 60 m)

                                              = 2(180 m)

                                              = 360 m

∴ The distance he walks for one turn = 360 m

Mr. Chowdhury rounds four times around his rectangular garden for his morning walk.

So,

  The distance he walks for morning walk will be equal to 4 times the perimeter of the garden.

             = 4 (360 m)

             = 1440 m

Conversion :

 1 km = 1000 m

⇒ 1 m = 1/1000 km

∴ 1440 m

     \bf =\frac{1440}{1000} \ km \\\\\ =1.44 \ km

Mr.Chowdhary walks 1.44 km for morning walk.
