Mr. Ghosh arrives at his office 30 min. Late everyday. On a particular day , he reduces his speed by 25% & hence arrived 50 min. Late instead. If he has to arrive on time, by what percentage should he increase hie speed?

Distance of office = D  km

T hr is the time taken to reach office at time

Time Taken =  D/S  =  T + 30/60

=> D/S = T + 1/2

=> 2D = 2ST  + S

Speed reduced by 25 %

Reduced speed = S - (25/100)S =  3S/4

=> D/(3S/4)  =  T + 50/60

=> 4D/3S = T + 5/6

=> 8D = 6ST + 5S

6ST + 5S = 8ST + 4S

=> 2ST = S

=> T = 1/2

=> 2D = S + S

=> D = S

Speed Required = D/T = S/(1/2) = 2S

increase in speed = 2S - S

Speed to be  increase = (S/S) * 100 = 100%

Speed should be increased by 100 %
