Jinnah has to be read politically to understand why he made this transition. While doing this, we (Indians) have to take away the cloak of villainy from Jinnah and treat him as a freedom fighter, who had a very different view of future than we (Secular Indians) did.

Jinnah, initially had enough space to stay as a 'real' Congress leader with his secular credentials. But as times progressed, he believed that this secularism would fade and a Hindu India would succeed British India.
