Answer:

44.44 litre

Step-by-step explanation:

let he mixed  100x litre wine 1 and 100y of wine 2

total wine=100(x+y) litres

cp=200*100x+260x100y

CP=1000(20x+26y ) Rs

water mixed=100(x+y) *12/100=12(x+y) litres

Total new wine =100(x+y)+12(x+y)=112(x+y) LITRE

SP=112*250(x+y) Rs=28000(x+y)

Net proft % =100*(SP-CP)/CP=25

100* { 28000(x+y)-1000(20x+26y )/{1000(20x+26y )}=25

4(28000x+28000y-20000x-26000y) =20000x+26000y

112000x+112000y-80000x-101000y=20000x+26000y

32000x-20000x=26000y-11000y

12000 x=15000y

12x=15y

4x=5y

x=5y/4

Total new wine=112(x+y)

=112(5y/4+y)

=112y(5+4)/4=28*y*9=252y litres

and quantity of wine 2(260Rs/L) =100y

Thus ratio of new wine: wine2=252y:100y=63:25

Thus Wine 2 in 112 litres of new wine=112*25/63=44.44 litre

Solution :-

given that,

→ Selling Price of new wine = Rs.250/litre

→ Profit = 25%.

so,

→ CP of new wine = (SP * 100) / (100 + Profit%) = (250 * 100) / (100 + 25) = (250 * 100)/125 = Rs.200/litre.

Now, Let us assume that, x litres of wine costing Rs.260 was added in 112 litres of the new wine.

also given that, 12 litres of water per 100 litres of this mixture was added to get a new wine .

So,

  • Total mixture = 100 litre.
  • Quantity of wine costing Rs.260/litre = x litre .
  • Quantity of wine costing Rs.200/litre = (100 - x) litre

then,

→ Total CP of 112 litres of the new wine = CP of x litres of wine at Rs.260/litre + CP of (100 - x) litres of wine at Rs.200/litre

→ 200 * 112 = 260 * x + 200(100 - x)

→ 22400 = 260x + 20000 - 200x

→ 60x = 22400 - 20000

→ 60x = 2400

→ x = 40 Litre (Ans.)

Hence, 40 Litres of Rs. 260/litre variant of wine has Mr. John added in 112 litres of the new wine .
