Mr Khadka has bought two piece of carpet his room. carpet-x has area 48sq. ft and width 6 ft. the area of carpet-y is one half area of carpet-x. if both the carpets have same length. what is the width of the carpet-y?​

area of carpet y = \frac{1}{2}*48

area of carpet y = 24

now,

area of carpet y = 24 ft²

length of carpet y = length of carpet x = 8 ft

let the width be w

area of carpet y = l*w

24 ft² = 8 ft*w

w = \frac{24}{8}

w = 3 ft
