Given:

Mr. Khan wants to get a wall painted in his house. A door frame of dimensions 3m x 2m is fixed on the wall of dimension 10 m x 10 m.

To find:

Find the total labour charges for painting the wall if the labour charges for painting the wall 1m 2of the wall is AED 2..

Solution:

From given, we have,

A door frame of dimensions 3m x 2m

Area of the door = l × b

= 3m × 2m

= 6m²

A wall of dimensions 10 m x 10 m.

Area of wall including door = s × s

= 10 m ×10 m

= 100m²

Area of wall excluding the door = (100 - 6) m² = 92m²

Total labour charges = Rs 2.50 × 94

= Rs 235

Therefore, the total labour charges for painting the wall if the labour charges for painting 1 m square of the wall is 2.50 is Rs. 235.
