Step-by-step explanation:

Given:-

Mr.Khan won a cash prize of a certain in a jackpot of a carnival. He gave half of his money and additional amount of rupees 10,000. He Also gave 1/3 of the money received and an additional amount of rupees 3000 to his son. If his wife get double the amount the son got.

To find:-

Find the amount that Mr. Khan got.

Solution:-

Let the cash prize won by Mr. Khan in the jack pot of the carnival be Rs. X

Money gave his wife = Half of the prize and additional amount of Rs. 10,000

=>(1/2) of X + 10,000

=>(X/2 ) + 10000

=>(X+20000)/2

Money gave his wife = Rs. (X+20000)/2

Money gave his son = 1/3 of the money and additional amount of Rs. 3000

=>(1/3) of X + 3000

=>(X/3) + 3000

=>(X+9000)/3

Money gave his son = Rs. (X+9000)/3

and

Amount got his wife = Double the amount the son got

=>(X+20000)/2 =2× (X+9000)/3

=>(X+20000)/2 = (2X+18000)/3

On applying cross multiplication then

=>3(X+20000)=2(2X+18000)

=>3X+60000 = 4X+36000

=>4X-3X = 60000 - 36000

=>X = 24,000

The prize money = Rs. 24000

Answer:-

The amount got by Mr.Khan in the jack pot of the carnival = Rs. 24,000
